GhostKit Privacy Policy

How GhostKit handles sensor readings, EVP recordings and investigation data on your Android device.

The short version

GhostKit uses your phone's sensors and, when you choose, its microphone and camera torch to provide paranormal investigation tools. Britenet Labs does not receive, store, sell or analyse your recordings, readings or investigation data.

Information accessed by the app

GhostKit accesses the magnetometer, accelerometer and ambient light sensor to display magnetic-field, compass, motion and light readings. Sensor readings are processed on your device and may be added to an investigation session that you start.

Microphone and EVP recordings

Microphone permission is requested only when you choose to record an Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) session. Audio recordings are stored in the app's private storage on your device. GhostKit does not automatically upload or transmit these recordings to Britenet Labs or any server.

Camera and torch permission

Camera permission is requested only so GhostKit can control the phone's torch. GhostKit does not use this permission to take photographs, record video or transmit camera data.

Information stored on your device

Investigation names, notes, timestamps, sensor logs, evidence markers and EVP recording references are stored locally in the app's private storage. Graph images that you choose to save are written to the Pictures/GhostKit folder on your device. Britenet Labs cannot view or retrieve this information.

Sharing and export

GhostKit does not automatically share investigation data. If you choose to export or share information, Android sends the report or file to the app or destination that you select. Any third-party service you choose operates under its own privacy policy.

Accounts, advertising and analytics

GhostKit has no user accounts, advertising SDKs, analytics, cloud synchronisation or remote backend. Britenet Labs does not collect, sell or share personal data through the app.

Permissions

Microphone permission is used for user-initiated EVP recording. Camera permission is used for user-initiated torch control. You can refuse or withdraw either permission through Android Settings; the related feature will then stop working.

Data retention and deletion

Saved investigations can be deleted within GhostKit. You can remove all locally stored app data through Android Settings by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app. Graph images saved to Pictures/GhostKit can be deleted with your device's gallery or file manager. Because Britenet Labs does not collect app data on its servers, it has no remote copy to retain or delete.

Measurement information

GhostKit records physical measurements reported by supported phone sensors. Electrical equipment, magnets, movement and environmental conditions can affect readings. The app does not claim that any reading or recording proves paranormal activity.

Children

GhostKit is a general paranormal investigation utility and is not specifically directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If GhostKit's data practices change, this policy and the Google Play Data Safety declaration will be updated before the relevant release.
